Since my first official FORECASTING BLOG is going to hit the web in a matter of minutes I wanted to share some mini insight for those readers who are not plugged into the design world. (And thank goodness there are more people reading my blog than there are followers according to the stats! But before you read anymore please FOLLOW ME:) No annoying emails or updates. It's basically like being a fan on facebook. :)
But onto forecasting!
Trend forecasting is all about looking at the world as holistically as possible to extract the next big thing in the design world. Design is everywhere all around you. Have you ever thought about why something is a certain color, shape or even size? It's all about forecasting trends. Designers and retailers want to know 'what's next' and pay big bucks for people to search though thousands of runways shows, trade fairs, exhibitions, lectures...the list goes on and on...
My goal to bring to you each season is a look into the next hot thing BEFORE or JUST AS it hits stores. I want to share the trend, explore it and then document it as it grows or let's be honest sometimes fails. Not everything you see will be a bestseller. But more important not every trend or style is for everyone. Even in a single season you'll see radical differences and often contradictions. My advice is to go with your gut and use the information and inspiration to DESIGN YOUR OWN LIFE as you see fit!!
